Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
MLabs Group LTD (a parent company of 'MLabs LTD', 'MLabs Digital LTD', 'MLabs AI LTD' and 'Walkway Technologies LTD') is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within both its business and supply chain. This statement sets out the steps MLabs is taking to understand all potential modern slavery and human trafficking risks related to its business, and the actions underway to manage those risks.
Introduction
MLabs recognizes that modern slavery is a complex and multi-faceted issue that affects over 40 million people worldwide. As a responsible business, we are committed to understanding where risks of modern slavery may occur in our operations and supply chain and developing processes to safeguard against any form of exploitation.
This modern slavery and human trafficking statement relates to actions and activities being implemented during years 2023/2024.
Our Business and Structure of Organisation
We are a technology provider specialising in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Blockchain, DevOps, Cloud Computing, Frontend and Backend application development, HR services and staff augmentation. Collaborating closely with clients or spearheading projects, we resolve complex challenges and deliver impactful software solutions.
Our Supply Chains
MLabs operates in the technology industry and as such has limited supply chains. Our suppliers predominantly are individuals, who provide software development services as well as professional services such as consulting and advisory activities. We recognize that risks of modern slavery can occur in various tiers across our supply chain and take appropriate steps to mitigate this.
Our Due Diligence
To manage risks within our supply chain, we implement diligence processes:
- Risk assessments to determine which suppliers are high risk for modern slavery so additional safeguards can be applied. Factors we assess include the commodity, country of origin, supplier relationships, and allegations of modern slavery connected to the supplier.
- Desk-based research before engaging in new supplier relationships. This allows us to determine if suppliers demonstrate a commitment to ethical business practices.
- Contract terms that prohibit suppliers and their employees from engaging in unethical behaviour, including any form of modern slavery. Breaches constitute grounds for terminating relationships.
Training
To ensure an understanding of modern slavery risks and the appropriate actions our staff must take, we will implement training in the following ways:
- All staff involved in procurement and supplier management will receive tailored training on identifying signs of forced labour, human trafficking, and modern slavery specific to our supply chains.
- Targeted training for senior managers and board members on modern slavery risks, legal obligations, and effective due diligence controls.
Whistleblowing
We have implemented confidential reporting hotline for employees, contractors, and other parties to raise concerns about potential modern slavery occurring in our business or supply chains. All reported concerns will be fully investigated by designated staff at an appropriate level and raised to HR.
Key Performance Indicators
To monitor the effectiveness of our actions we intend to track the following key performance indicators:
- Percentage of suppliers screened for modern slavery risks before onboarding
- Percentage of staff trained on modern slavery
- Number of reports made through our confidential reporting hotline
This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors and will be reviewed annually.
